About This Experience

Glide by canoe through rainforest canals with a certified local guide, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the jungle. Binoculars are included to help you spot wildlife and details that are easy to miss with the naked eye.

Keep watch for monkeys moving through the canopy, sloths resting among the trees, caimans along the water’s edge, toucans and colorful tropical birds. Your guide will help you search for wildlife and discover the fascinating rainforest ecosystem around you.

Each canoe carries a maximum of 10 guests. When more travelers are booked for the same departure, guests are divided among multiple canoes, each with its own guide.

Wildlife is completely wild and sightings can never be guaranteed—making every journey through Tortuguero a different experience.

Meeting point

Meet in front of Tree Coffee House, next to Tortuguero’s main dock. Please arrive a few minutes before 6:00 AM with your booking confirmation and National Park ticket ready. We’ll welcome you, provide your life jacket, introduce you to your local guide, and get you ready to board your canoe.
